FOR WEEKENDING 05th August 2007.
Good water levels at the weekend produced good fishing, 19 fish were caught, with a best fish on Saturday by Mattie Collins, Cork weighing 9 ½ lbs. Best fish on Sunday by Keith O’Connell, Cork 13 ½ lbs. Kirsty Moore, Sneem caught her first ever salmon weighing 6 ½ lbs. which she sportingly returned.
Monday 30th July 1 fish on a fly weighing 5 lbs. and 3 on shrimp by Adam Condon and Paul Hanley.
Tuesday 31st 3 Salmon on shrimp weighing 4 lbs., 5 lbs. and 6 ½ lbs. by Sean Higgins, John O’Brien and John McSweeny all from Cork.
Wednesday 1st 2 fish on the fly weighing 3 ½ lbs and 4 lbs by Kieran Condon and Adam Condon. 3 on shrimp by Thomas Murragh weighing 3 lbs. and 4 lbs.
Thursday 2nd 1 on the fly weighing 6 ½ lbs by Paul Hanley and 2 on the fly weighing 5 lbs each by Adam Condon. Tom Higgins from Newross caught 5 on the fly and Sharon Higgins caught on weighing 4 ½ lbs on the fly.
A total of 24 fish were caught for the week and all were hatchery fish and released
A total of 8 salmon averaging between 6 to 8 lbs. and 1 sea trout weighing 3 lbs were caught for the week. Also on beat 2, a specimen Salmon of 23 lbs. fish was caught on a black flying C by Dick Coffee.
3 fish caught on the Flesk weighing between 3 and 4 lbs.
2 fish were caught on the lakes.
2 Salmon caught on Sunday with one weighing 12 lbs., and 1 sea trout weighing 2 ½ lbs also landed for the week.
