FOR WEEKENDING 27th August 2007.
Monday 20th 7 fish caught on a shrimp by Steven Richardson, Antrim weighing between 5lbs and 7 ½ lbs. Jim Richardson caught 3 weighing 4, 5 ½ and 6 lbs and John O’Brien, Cork caught an 8 lbs fish all hatchery fish returned.
Tuesday 21st Ryan Richardson, Antrim caught a 5 lbs fish, Steven Richardson got a 5 ½ lbs one and Cathal McGuire, Cork caught 2 weighing 6 and 7 lbs all on shrimp and returned.
Wednesday 22nd Kieran Condon got a 5 lbs fish and a 3 lbs wild fish both on the fly and returned. Richard Barry, Cork caught 2 on the shrimp weighing 4 and 6 ½ lbs both wild.
Thursday 23rd Steven Richardson caught 3 hatchery fish weighing 4, 6, and 7 ½ lbs all returned. Jim Richardson caught 2 hatchery fish weighing 3 and 4 ½ lbs again returned. Ryan Richardson, Antrim caught 1 wild fish weighing 5 lbs.
Friday 24th Adam Condon, Cork caught 1 4 lbs wild fish on the fly which was returned.
Saturday 25th Adam Condon caught a 4 lbs hatchery fish again returned and a visiting angler caught 2 fish on the shrimp weighing 2 ½ lbs and 3 lbs.
On Sunday 26th Richie Barry, Cork caught a 6 lbs fish which was returned on the fly.

2 fish caught on the lakes.
17 fish caught for the week with 4 of these in excess on 14 lbs. in weight. Sea trout fishing has been poor.
All anglers reported catching fish.

Water level still well up giving perfect fly-fishing conditions great spinning water as well. Things were really slow early in the week but picked towards the end and over the weekend. There are plenty fish in the river but they won't look at a thing, flies or spinning baits! Despite this fishing effort was high there were a total of 20 fish reported from Laune Anglers waters. There were 5 fish reported from Beat 3 one of which was caught by this writer.
All fish being caught are well conditioned sea liced fish from 11 to 6 lbs in weight. Over the past few weeks there have been a number of accounts of encounters with big fish (up to 30 lbs) but thankfully for the fish's sake the fish won.
