COURTMACSHERRY

Charter skipper, Mark Gannon reports on some recent deep sea fishing with his clients out from COURTMACSHERRY

“Paddy Bags another ton up skate as Russia claims its first Courtmacsherry Specimen... ...Last weekend with the weather calm and sunny both the charter boats and the self drives had very good fishing.  On the Saturday the “Lady Louise” fished an inshore wreck catching good pollack to double figures and on the Sunday, conger, ling, bullhuss, pollack, dogfish, mackerel, coalfish, wrasse, pouting and sandeel were caught by a Dublin group led by Patsy Boland.  The “Lady Patricia” targeted the skate on the Sunday and Paddy Mc Keown landed a fine fish after a great fight approx weight 150 lbs.  The Male common Skate had previously been tagged.  On the Monday the 1st June the “Lady Patricia” taking advantage of the good weather and steamed south to fish the wrecks and a specimen coalfish of 19.3 lbs. was caught by Russian National Andrew Messas. Good ling were also caught along with other coalfish just under the specimen weight.  The Self drives fishing the inshore marks are catching pollack, coalfish, ray, dabs and in the estuary gilthead bream and flounder. Best bait peeler crab and lug.”   Regards
